When you spend your life backstage, you see things that an audience normally doesn't.

The empty venue hours before the doors open.

An artist moments before walking onto the stage.

The concentration at front of house.

A crew preparing for showtime.

The silence before thousands of people arrive.

And sometimes, a fraction of a second that unexpectedly becomes a photograph you remember for years.

Those are the moments that interest me.

My photography is therefore closely connected to my life in live entertainment. Some photographs were taken during productions I worked on, others during travels or encounters along the way.

I don't consider photography a second career.

It is simply another way of seeing.
